Deep conditioning

Deep conditioning is over rated according to me. I have not done the studies, and maybe I am using the wrong one. There is my disclaimer and here is what I did:
  1. I detangled after saturating my hair with Tresseme Naturals conditioner.
  2. Left it in overnight and covered with a cap.
  3. Co-Washed in the shower in the morning with Herbal Essences conditioner
  4. After this I put in the deep conditioner (Shea Moisture Deep treatment Masque, Organic Hair Mayonnaise mixture)
  5. Sat under heat cap for 30 minutes
  6. Rinsed with cool water ( must say that after this step my hair felt harder than after I finished cowashing)
  7. I then dressed my hair with Detangling Ghee (Qhemet Biologics.....LOVE LOVE LOVE this product and Shea Butter Moisturizer mixture)
  8. Braided hair for a braid out when hair is dry
Of course I will post pics of the results, however last weeks without the deep conditioner I loved much better by time I got to step 3. lol. I will post the pics from last week and the ones from this week as soon as I take the braids down.

You must not quit!

It is quite a committment to wear your hair and your life natural I am sure one would agree but this morning as I woke up I was able to bless God for another day just to be alive and it did not matter about my hair.  It is a small thing.  Today I wanted to remind everyone not to major in minors!  Have a great day and wear your twist out, braids, braid out, twa, weave with style :)

The journey continues

Before

After

Yes, it has been months since my last hair related post, however the other e-avenues have been blasting. I have spent the last few months gaining momentum in my networking business and our wonderful clothing line JiKJiL.  It has been a greast journey.  Here is the first protective style of my 2012 growth challenge.  Having a young family and maintaining balance in all things is challenging but I thank God for His grace.  I will keep you updated as I protect, moisturize and grow in 2012.

Speak to your storm

The past three months I have been dealing with a lot of little emotional fires they shall be called. However through the preached word of God and the Holy Spirit I am proud to say, the clouds are clearing and the storm is passing.  This even rolled over into my hair in the way that I have been forgetting to take my prenatal pills and have been experiencing a tremendous amount of shedding and then I forgot that I had told myself I love mini-twists and hate the aftermath so lost some hair there too :(.  All things being equal I am reminded this Thanksgiving and Christmas season that no matter the storm I have been created for and with a purpose and I have to FOCUS- Follow One Course Until Successful and I too will experience, spiritual fulfillment, internationally known Christian Apparel Branding, waist length hair, wonderful well-adjusted children, a spiritually and emotionally successful marriage and writing a few published and well-read books in my lifetime. God is able!

Bantu Knots / Chinese Bumps

Whatever you call them, well I got some after a semi-blowout.  My hair is so thick that I cannot tell you the bellyaching that goes on everytime it is time to wash it. See I have three children 3 and under so any time I get to myself is considered a luxury. That being said, I washed and conditioned my hair in sections.  After that I coated it with my Shea Butter mixture and blow dried it.  After it was semi-dry I did bantu knots as a way of setting it.  I was going to wait a few days to take them down but as you all know I love my hair out so they only lasted two days.  Here is a picture of them.

Been A While.....

Been a while since you have seen me and how about my edges have been growing back in and no, it was not the Dr. Miracles. I have been using a product called "That Growing Thing".  It is actually made by a friend and her daughter and when I tell you it is a phenomenal product, trust me.  It is only sold in a few beauty supply stores in South Florida, however this product will take off and be nationwide soon.  Won't keep you too long since this is my first time back since a wealth building hiatus but here are a few pics to get you caught up from the past few months.  Yes I colored my hair again. It was done on Tuesday, 10/18 and yes I am loving it.

Product Review - Dr. Miracles

Well, when putting in my yarn braids and from prior styling I started noticing my edges getting a little thin.  It is probably due to me not being as gentle as I should be at times with my hair.  Anyway, I have decided to try the Dr. Miracles Temple and Nape Balm to get those areas grown back in.  The box suggests using it 2 times per day for 30 days before seeing results so this is Day 1 and here are pics of the product and before shots.  Thank you for following the progress!
